Putnam and Lyons will discuss various macroeconomic factors at play from quantitative easing to currency wars and what the outlook is for the remainder of 2013.

Bluford (Blu) Putnam has served as Managing Director and Chief Economist of CME Group, the world leading and most diverse financial marketplace, since May 2011. He is responsible for leading economic analysis on global financial markets by identifying emerging trends, evaluating economic factors and forecasting their impact on CME Group and the company's business strategy. He also serves as CME Group's spokesperson on global economic conditions and manages external research initiatives. Putnam holds a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Florida Presbyterian College (later renamed Eckerd College) and a Ph.D.in economics from Tulane University. He has authored five books on international finance, as well as many articles that have been published in academic journals and business publications.

Gerard Lyons (Speaker)
Chief Economic Adviser to the Mayor
Dr Gerard Lyons is Chief Economic Advisor to Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London. He took up this role at the beginning of the year and was previously Chief Economist, Group Head of Global Research and Economic Advisor to the Board at Standard Chartered for 13 years. In 2010 and 2011 he was rated number one global forecaster (out of 360) by Bloomberg. He is widely credited with accurate forecasts ahead of the crisis, indeed the month before Lehman's collapsed he was one of only two UK forecasters predicting a deep recession, versus the then consensus of modest growth. He is the vice-chair of the 48 Group Club (that focuses on China-UK business ties) and a committee member of the Hong Kong Association.
