Mark Gorman (Speaker)
Partner, GormanThayer Private Equity

Mark Gorman is a Founder and Partner of GormanThayer, where he spends his time working with owners, entrepreneurs and management teams in assessing their requirements/needs, finding the right private equity partner for them and overseeing the execution of an investment. Mr. Gorman has spent the last ten years assessing alternative asset management firms who privately finance and invest in a variety of companies. Previously, Mr. Gorman worked at Attalus Capital, as one of the firm’s three Partners, where he spent his time executing and managing that firm’s portfolio allocation and research efforts for both the private equity and hedge fund segments. Prior to his asset management career, Mr. Gorman gained experience in both corporate finance and direct mezzanine and private equity investing while working at both CoreStates Financial Corp. and the Bank of Nova Scotia. Mr. Gorman received a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (minor in German) from the University of Pennsylvania.

John Diggins (Speaker)
Partner, Platinum Equity

John Diggins brings a comprehensive background in financial growth management and mergers & acquisitions activity to the company, in addition to broad operating experience. Through the successful development and execution of strategic sales and marketing programs, Mr. Diggins is responsible for growing the revenue base of Platinum Equity’s operating companies as well as identifying product strengths to help build market advantage. Prior to joining Platinum in 1996, Mr. Diggins was CEO for both Pilot Software and Foresight Software, which were acquired by Platinum. He was also a co-founder of Ventek Systems with Platinum Equity Chairman and CEO Tom Gores. Mr. Diggins holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico.

John Beauclair (Speaker)
Principal, Sun Capital

John Beauclair is responsible for identifying investment and financing opportunities in the United States. Mr. Beauclair has over nine years of leveraged buyouts and mergers and acquisitions experience, having served most recently as Co-Founder and Executive Director with TransOcean Capital, a middle market buyout firm, and Senior Vice President with Ridgewood Capital, an early stage venture capital firm. Mr. Beauclair graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley and received a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Jean-Louis Lelogeais (Speaker)
Partner, Strategic Value Partners, LLC

Mr. Lelogeais has extensive experience in the hedge fund and financial services industries. Mr. Lelogeais is a Partner at Strategic Value Partners, LLC a large hedge fund and private equity firm, where he is responsible for the Firm's marketing and investor relations. Mr. Lelogeais had similar responsibilities for Moore Strategic Value Partners. Prior to that, Mr. Lelogeais headed Lelogeais & Co., LLC, an advisory firm focused on strategic management issues in global wholesale financial services. Before that, he was a Managing Director at The Chase Manhattan Bank, where he led the Global Bank strategic repositioning, and after the merger with Chemical Bank, implemented the merger integration of the Global Client Management business. Prior to his tenure with The Chase Manhattan Bank, Mr. Lelogeais was a Partner with Booz.Allen & Hamilton, where he managed the Wholesale Banking and Capital Markets practice. During his more than 10 years as a management consultant, Mr. Lelogeais acquired significant experience across corporate banking and capital markets businesses and in turnaround and growth strategies. Mr. Lelogeais received a degree in engineering from Ecole des Mines in France in 1981 and received an M.S. in Management Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1985.
