This will be what I believe to be our first ever "Booth Alumni After Work Hike and Pizza". Its a great time of year to get out and enjoy the beautiful scenery that Colorado has to offer and on top of that it will be led by Ed White, '98. It is a great opportunity to reconnect with your colleagues and get some exercise too.
Driving Directions:
We're meeting at the Florida Lot of Green Mountain/William Frederick Hayden Park, on the west side of W. Alameda Pkwy (across from W. Florida Dr.), about 1/4 mile north of the Alameda/Jewell intersection in Lakewood (do not go to the Utah Lot which is a little south of the Florida Lot). Event Details
The plan is to do an after work hike on Green Mountain (Lakewood, CO) and then go for pizza afterward. We'll hike from the Florida Lot on the Alameda side of Green Mountain, and then go to nearby Frontroom Pizza for dinner and drinks. The hike is about a little over 3 miles with 725' of elevation gain. You'll be able to chat with the other alum while you enjoy great views in all directions. The hike will be led by Ed White, '88, who has led over 30 hikes with the Colorado Mountain Club and over 80 after work hikes with his Meetup group, After Work Hiking Plus! The hike is free, and everyone pays for their own dinner/drinks after the hike.
Afternoon thunderstorms are common this time of year, but they usually clear up by hike time--bring rain gear just in case. Also bring water to drink, and preferably wear either hiking boots or trail running shoes. Dogs are welcome on this hike, but they must be on a leash and you must pick up after them (dogs must stay in the car for the restaurant).
If the weather forecast is bad and the hike needs to be cancelled, the participants who have RSVPed will be emailed. If you do not have internet access at work and need to clarify if the hike is on, you can call the hike leader (cell# will be emailed to RSVPs the day before the hike). You will be asked to sign a waiver before the hike.
