As the Federal government's National Export Initiative strives to double exports in five years, the key role of expanding sales opportunities and profits in international markets is taking center stage. While the conventional wisdom asserts that an experienced sales professional should be able to sell any product or service to anyone at any time, Booth alumnus John Phelan, '93, maintains that one must be well traveled and comfortable in global cultures and business situations to be successful in internationally competitive markets.
