Strong relationships are crucial for success, particularly in a difficult economy, yet the practical skills of relationship-building are too often overlooked. This hands-on work group is designed to help alumni become more effective at relationship building for business development, managerial effectiveness, sales or job hunting. The monthly work group includes specific readings for small group discussion where participants will learn how to build an effective network, interact to develop their networking techniques and skills and share best practices. Participants will be encouraged to support each other in attaining the results they seek. Accordingly, this program will be of greatest value to those participants who are prepared to take action to maximize the value of their relationship networks. The January discussion will focus on making phone calls to generate leads either for business development or for your job search. What have you done to overcome the psychological barriers of making calls? How do you make calling a priority? What tips and tricks do you have for growing and maintaining your network?
