More than five years ago, Booth created the Social Enterprise Initiative (SEI) to support the aspirations of students and alumni to impact societal issues and conduct further research on how institutions help solve problems. A recent gift from John Edwardson,'72,has enabled SEI to expand social entrepreneurship at Booth.
David Friedman,, '89, is the Social Entrepreneur in Residence at SEI and the founder of social venture AutonomyWorks. Dave will provide an overview of the major programs and initiatives in SEI and will share the inspiring story of his social venture. David Friedman (Speaker) '89

David founded AutonomyWorks in 2012. His company partners with leading companies needing high quality marketing operations support. AutonomyWorks leverages the unique talents of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, along with technology and systems design, to provide both cost competitive solutions and exceptional quality.
Before starting his company, David spent 25 years assisting retail and consumer organizations in building brands through great customer experiences - digitally, online, and in-store. In his position, David was responsible for customer and supplier loyalty programs, branding, market research, advertising and promotion, public relations and creative services.
Prior to Sears Holdings, David spent 11 years as an executive with Razorfish, one of the world's largest interactive marketing and technology companies. Most recently he served as President, Americas leading the Razorfish business in North and South America. Notably, while at Razorfish, David directed the development and growth of their marketing process outsourcing business.
Earlier in his career, David spent 10 years with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) working with retail and consumer products companies. David earned an MBA from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.
David grew up on the East Coast and now lives in suburban Chicago with his wife and four kids. He likes reading, running, and people.

Elizabeth is a corporate and securities attorney in Chicago, where she has her own law firm. She is currently the Chair of the ISBA Business and Securities Section Council, a member of the Institute of Illinois Business Law, and President of the Chicago Association for Business Economics. She is a former ABA Business Law Felow, former Chair of the ISBA Business Advice and Financial Planning Section Council, and a former President of the Chicago Booth Alumni Club.
Bruce Fischer (Moderator)

Bruce is a professor in the Department of Business at Elmhurst College, and the Program Director for their Graduate Program in Project Management. He holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from Western Michigan University, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from Northwestern University. Dr. Fischer was a management consultant for several years specializing in project management, organizational change, and systems design. His current research focus is on the management of innovation.
