The explosion of connections and data has ushered in an era of hyper connectivity that challenges everyone to reset their understanding around privacy and attitudes about transparency. It also forces everyone to formulate data strategies—format, storage and access may be simpler and cheaper but not easy. In Information Technology strategy parlance, internal data control policies, processes and technologies fall into governance and in itself warrants a business level strategy especially as unprecedented visibility around data and its handling affects performance.

Accountability is not a bad place to start the conversation.
Customers increasingly demand simple, seamless, and personalized experiences at every touch point, and vary in their comfort levels about different use cases for their digital footprints. At whose authority do their data wakes become a system of record? Who accesses and remains responsible for data integrity and establishes permissions for its use?
Each of us create and use data, and regardless of your experience, we manage it too which is precisely why you will benefit from the discussion. Please take a moment to review the articles in advance, register and then join us to explore the impact of different data governance strategies.
Note, as an option, we realized that research on accounting governance and their relationship to financial performance of the firm offered some good frameworks. That's why we've listed it as an optional article.
ALSO, one last note. If you missed the January discussion on Long term strategy, take a look at the write-up we've posted on our blog, strategyinsight.wordpress.com. Let us know what you think if you have time.
