Thomas has earned acclaim for her dramatic, spontaneous work and masterful use of instrumental color and has amassed a following among orchestras, chamber ensembles, soloists, vocalists, and music enthusiasts with her unique creations of vibrant, bold fantasy in sound. Join Thomas on a visual, tactile, and auditory journey through her musical world, as she shares her sketches, manuscripts, and methodology for composing.

Augusta Read Thomas was composer-in-residence at the CSO, has served as board chair of the American Music Center, and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Her compositions have been performed by the Berlin Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, and Chicago Symphony Orchestra, among other ensembles.
