Event Details
In baseball-crazed Cuba, nothing might symbolize the prospect for change more than the December visit to Cuba of White Sox slugger Jose Abreu and seven other major-league baseball players. Is baseball to US-Cuba relations as was ping pong to US-China relations? Is Antonio Castro's, a son of Fidel, handshake with Cuban defector Abreu a sign of changing relations between the US and Cuba? David Haugh accompanied these players and will reflect on his experiences against the backdrop of rapidly changing conditions in US-Cuba official, commercial, and cultural relations.
