About the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard: In 2001, the decoding of the human genome sparked a revolution in how we understand human health and disease. Three years later, the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard was founded to fulfill the promise of this revolution: to reveal the fundamental basis of disease and catalyze rational treatments. Based in the dynamic biomedical hub of Kendall Square, Cambridge, the Broad Institute brings together an extraordinary community of scientists from MIT, Harvard, and the five Harvard teaching hospitals. Equipped with world-leading technology and unrivaled scientific platforms, Broad scientists are narrowing the gap between biological insight and clinical impact, and paving the way for novel therapeutics for a wide range of human diseases.
