This talk will discuss some of the unique work that we do at Civis Analytics to help organizations with these challenges, specifically focusing on the predictive models used to guide outreach on health insurance enrollment for the uninsured.

As an Applied Data Science Manager at Civis, Amos's leads a team of data scientists that helps organizations solve their toughest challenges with data. His work focuses on the healthcare and energy sectors - two industries that are in the middle of immense technological transformation.
Amos comes to Civis Analytics after working for Obama for America as a battleground states elections analyst, where he built tools that forecast the election outcome, informed where to hold campaign rallies, and helped manage volunteer time and resources. In the final months of the campaign, he managed the Wisconsin data team, bringing the campaign's powerful analytics resources to bear at the ground level.
He previously worked at the Urban Institute, where he developed strong opinions and learned to code.
Amos holds a BS in Mathematics from Brown University and one half of an MS in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University. In 2007 he made his Russian television debut explaining to a confused Saint Petersburg reporter how Ultimate Frisbee works.
