Ashish Chandarana, 07 (Moderator)
Partner, McKinsey

Ashish is Partner in McKinsey's London office with a focus on serving clients in the Oil and Gas sector, in both the upstream and downstream segments. Over the last several years, Ashish has served majors, independents and NOCs in North America, Europe and Africa on a wide range of strategic and operational topics including upstream portfolio strategy, corporate re-organisations, joint-venture management, and small- and large capital project optimisation.
Ashish is the UK leader of McKinsey's Capital Productivity practice.
Before joining McKinsey in 2007, Ashish spent six years working in private equity in the United States and Africa. He holds an MBA (Honors) from the University of Chicago, a master's degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge, and bachelor degrees in Economics and International Relations from Brown University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Laurence Mulliez, '92 (Speaker)
Chairman of Voltalia

Laurence has spent over 16 years of her career working at BP in a variety of roles ranging from being the CEO/MD for chemical/industrial Lubricants businesses to being head of Strategy and Planning globally for all of BP's Gas Power and Renewables businesses. After leaving BP, she started up Eoxis, a firm producing power from renewable resources, building 65MW of operating solar and wind power plants and a larger portfolio of projects in various countries, while being backed by a private equity firm. She is now a Non Executive Director at Aperam (stainless steel), Green Investment Bank (funding renewables infrastructure in the UK), at SBM offshore (leading provider of offshore floating and refining platforms) and at Voltalia (independent power producer of renewables based power) where she is also Chairman. Laurence has a degree in Finance from Sup de Co Rouen- France, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth

Julian Vickers (Speaker)
Co-Head of Global Natural Resources Group, Barclays

Julian has been active in the Oil & Gas and Mining Industries for 28 years.
Six years of this were spent as an Exploration Geologist with Cominco Ltd of Canada (now part of Teck Corporation), running exploration and development assets in Turkey, Ireland, Germany, Italy, France, Canada and the USA.
Julian then spent three years with McKinsey and Company in London and worked in the airline, insurance, retail, chemicals and oil & gas industries as a strategic consultant.
For the last 18 years, Julian has been an Investment Banker in the Natural Resources sector, working initially with Schroders and Citigroup, where he was Global Co-Head of Oil & Gas Investment Banking, and then Barclays (from 2009) where he is currently Global Co-Head of Natural Resources Investment Banking. Julian has advised on a range of public and private market transactions including Shell's acquisition of Penzoil Quaker State, Lasmo's acquisition of Monument, Lasmo's acquisition by ENI, Norsk Hydro's acquisition of Spinnaker, Norsk Hydro's sale of its Oil & Gas business to Statoil, ENI's restructuring of Agip Petroli, CNPC's acquisition of Petrokazahkstan, Maersk's acquisition of Kerr-McGee UK and BG on its divestment of a stake in QGC.
He is a member of the Investment Bank's Operating Committee in EMEA.

Bonnie Weinstein, JD (1983) (Speaker)
Lawyer

Ms. Weinstein is based in Washington DC, engaged in a global advisory practice. The focus is macroglobal, government, corporate affairs, business intelligence, and the geopolitical and macroeconomic impact world events have on business, non-governmental and public activities. She is especially active in the European, Russian, Caucus, China and Asian spheres.
A graduate of the University of Chicago Law School Ms. Weinstein has been engaged in this practice for over twenty years. previous to that, she was engaged in New York corporate law firm practice, and public policy issues at the Clinton White House.
