We would like to invite you to a fireside chat between David Booth, '71, Chairman and Co-CEO of Dimensional Fund Advisors, and Professor John P. Gould, Steven G. Rothmeier Professor and Distinguished Service Professor of Economics, Chicago Booth.

The Fireside Chat, co-hosted by Chicago Booth and Dimensional Fund Advisors, will take place on the Chicago Booth London Campus and will be followed by a networking reception.

David Booth, '71 (Speaker)
Chairman and Co-CEO, Dimensional Fund Advisors

David Booth was a founder of Dimensional Fund Advisors in 1981 and is Chairman and Co-CEO.

David has written numerous articles including "Diversification Returns and Asset Management" with Eugene F. Fama, which won a Graham and Dodd Award of Excellence from the Financial Analysts Journal in 1992.

David was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Financial Executive Award by the Financial Management Association International. David was selected for his background and accomplishments in applying financial theory and research to the practical world of asset management, particularly for his pioneering work in indexing and small capitalization investing.

The University of Chicago Booth School of Business was named in honor of David, where he also serves as a lifetime member of the school's business advisory council. David is a member of the board of trustees of the University of Chicago, the University of Kansas Endowment Association, and he is on the board of directors of Georgetown University. David is also on the board of overseers for the Becker Friedman Institute. In 2010, Investment News named David as one of "The Power 20" in the financial services industry, and MutualFundWire ranked him 12th in its list of the 100 Most Influential People in mutual funds.

David received his MBA from the University of Chicago in 1971. He also holds an MS and a BA from the University of Kansas.

John P. Gould (Speaker)

John P. Gould studies strategy, microeconomics, industrial organization, law and economics, the economics of information, and investment by the firm. Considered an expert in his field, Gould has been called to testify in many court cases and his research has been widely published.

After graduating with a bachelor's of science with highest distinction in 1960 from Northwestern University, he attended the University of Chicago, where he earned an MBA in 1963 and a PhD in 1966. Gould joined the Chicago Booth faculty in 1965. In 1969-70, while on leave from Booth, Gould was Special Assistant for Economic Affairs in the Department of Labor when George P. Shultz was Secretary of Labor and a consultant for economic affairs to the Office of Management and Budget for the Executive Office of the President.

Gould is currently the director of DFA funds, a position he has held since 1986; director of Harbor funds; and Chairman of the CME Group's Competitive Markets Advisory Council. He is lead editor of the Journal of Law & Economics. He has served as editor of the Journal of Business, Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial Economics and Associate Editor of the Journal of Accounting and Economics. Additionally, he has served as a referee for many journals including American Economic Review, Bell Journal of Economics, Econometrica, Economic Inquiry, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Business, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Political Economy, International Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, and Review of Economic Studies and as a reviewer of research projects for the National Science Foundation.

Gould is the University of Chicago representative on the Board of the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Economic Association and Commercial Club of Chicago.

From 1983 to 1993, Gould served as dean of the Chicago Booth School of Business.
