Brother Michael O’Hern (Panelist), President and Chief Executive Officer of Christian Brothers Investment Services

Brother Michael O'Hern joined Christian Brothers Investment Services (CBIS) in 1987 and became President in 1989. CBIS is investment advisor to Roman Catholic institutions. Using a manager-of-managers structure, the mission of CBIS is to integrate Catholic social and ethical teaching into the investment process. Brother Michael is responsible for overseeing the investment strategies selected and the process of integration with Church teachings. Prior to joining the firm, Brother Michael worked for 19 years in Catholic education, as a high school teach and then principal, and finally superintendent of a system of sixty high schools. He has served on the Boards of private Catholic schools and charities. Brother Michael graduated from Lewis University with a B.A. in 1969. He also holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, and M.A. in Administration from Northwestern University, and an M.A. in History from Michigan State University. His FINRA registrations include series 7, 24, 63, and 65.

Ray Iwanowski (Panelist), Managing Principal of SECOR Asset Management and Co-Founder of SECOR Capital Advisors, LP.

Prior to founding SECOR, Ray was co-Chief Investment Officer of the Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) group at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) for 11 of the 12 years he spent at GSAM. Before that, Ray worked at Salomon Brothers as head of the Fixed Income Derivatives Client Research Group and member of the Bond Portfolio Analysis Research Group, and at First Boston in the Fixed-Income Portfolio Strategies Group. Ray earned a B.S. and B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and reached candidacy in the Ph.D. program in finance at the University of Chicago.

Attilio Meucci (Panelist), Chief Risk Officer at KKR and founder of SYMMYS

Under the SYMMYS umbrella, Attilio designed and teaches the six-day ARPM Bootcamp, and manages the charity One More Reason.

Previously, Attilio was the chief risk officer and director of portfolio construction at Kepos Capital, the global head of research for Bloomberg's risk and portfolio analytics platform; a researcher at Lehman POINT; a trader at the hedge fund Relative Value International; and a consultant at Bain & Co. Concurrently, he taught at Columbia-IEOR, NYU-Courant, Baruch College-CUNY, and Bocconi University.

Attilio earned a BA summa cum laude in Physics from the University of Milan, an MA in Economics from Bocconi University, a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Milan and is a CFA charterholder

Kurt Winkelmann, PhD (Panelist), Managing Director, Head of Risk & Analytical Research, MSCI

Mr. Winkelmann, based in New York, is responsible for setting the firm's research agenda and oversees the efforts of a global team of over 60 researchers across the firm. Prior to joining MSCI, Mr. Winkelmann was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he established and led the Global Investment Strategies team, responsible for strategic asset allocation, asset/liability analysis and risk advisory across asset classes for the firm's major global institutional clients. Between 1993 and 1999, he managed the Global Fixed Income Portfolio Strategy Group at Goldman Sachs International. Mr. Winkelmann's early career also included positions at Vestek Systems and Barra.

Mr. Winkelmann has a PhD and MA in Economics from the University of Minnesota and is an accomplished author and speaker. He has written extensively on investment themes such as risk budgeting and liability-driven investing, and has made numerous board and conference presentations on asset allocation-related themes.

He is a Member of the Board of Trustees for the University of Minnesota Foundation, a former Director of the Alberta Investment Management Company, and is Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the University of Minnesota's Heller-Hurwitz Economics Institute. He is a former Director for the University of Minnesota Foundation Investment Advisors.

Amy Wierenga (Panelist)
Partner and Head of Risk Managment, BlueMountain Capital Management

Amy Wierenga is a Partner and Head of Risk Managment at BlueMountain Capital Management, a $20BN CLO and absolute return manager that invests across the capital structure and asset class spectrums. Amy joined BlueMountain from Merrill Lynch where she was responsible for market risk in the Global Rates and FX trading businesses. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Amy worked as a commissioned Bank Examiner and Market and Liquidity Risk Specialist for the Federal Reserve Bank. At the Fed, Amy reviewed market, liquidity and counterparty credit risk models at US financial institutions, authored and led new systemwide inter-agency training on quantitative model review, and served on the Federal Reserve System Basel II Trading and Counterparty Credit Risk Management Advisory Group. Amy received the Federal Reserve's C.M.L. Bishop Award for Excellence and Outstanding Achievement in 2004. Amy holds an MBA in Analytic Finance, Econometrics and Statistics from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. She graduated with high honors from Butler University with Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Music.

Gilbert Ong, CFA (Moderator), Vice President, MSCI

Gilbert Ong is a Vice President in the hedge fund consulting group at MSCI, currently covering Hedge Funds and Fund of Funds in the East Coast and Midwest for Risk Management Analytics. He also started and heads the Americas Risk Management Analytics Presales Team. Prior to joining MSCI in April 2011, Gilbert was a Quantitative Analyst/Strategist at hedge fund, Platinum Partners. During his 11 year career in the capital markets business across New York, Hong Kong and Singapore, Gilbert has successfully started structured product business lines at CIBC World Markets and Fitch Ratings, where he rated and structured two "Deal of the Years" and China's first performing project finance CLO. He also worked in the managed synthetic CDO groups at UOB/OCBC Asset Management and started his career in Asian Equity Research in Salomon Smith Barney in 1999. Gilbert has a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a MA in Statistics from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Accounting (Honors) from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
