The University of Chicago Center in Beijing is extending invitations to Chicago Booth alumni to attend a lecture featuring Robert Z. Aliber, Professor Emeritus of International Economics and Finance at Chicago Booth.

The event will take place on March 19, 2013.

Professor Aliber has written extensively about exchange rates, international financial and banking relationships and policy problems.

In 1982, 1997, 2003 and 2008, Asia and the world were rocked by major financial crises. Professor Aliber will talk about past crises and the possible trajectory of the next one. Where is the next major crisis likely to begin? How will its impact compare to previous crises?

Professor Aliber, a regular speaker for Chicago Booth, has delivered two talks at the Beijing Center. He co-authored MANIAS, PANICS, and CRASHES – A History of Financial Crises, an outstanding book for policymakers and investors that was selected by the Financial Times and puts the turbulence of the financial world in perspective.

He has written extensively about exchange rates, and international financial and banking relationships and policy problems.
