You are invited to join the UChicago Alumni Club of Delhi and the UChicago Alumni Association in welcoming Matthew Tirrell, founding Pritzker director of the Institute for Molecular Engineering (IME), as he shares the vision for and progress in launching the University of Chicago's first engineering program. At the intersection of biomedical engineering, nanotechnology, and materials science, molecular engineers are making discoveries that offer opportunities to advance science; address pressing problems in energy, healthcare, information technology, and sustainability; and drive economic growth.

In collaboration with the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, the IME and its collaborators will invent, develop, and advance new technologies to be positioned for proof-of-concept or early-stage funding. With the IME, the University will become a destination for those seeking a distinctive approach to engineering research and education, imbedded in a campus with tremendous resources for technological innovation and commercialization opportunities.
