Efforts to improve our education challenges have been hindered by a sea of proposals based merely on theory or anecdote. Tim Knowles, the John Dewey Director of the University of Chicago Urban Education Institute and clinical professor on the Committee on Education, shares his thoughts on the necessary tools and challenges of nationwide urban school reform.
