The first meeting of the China Business Group will be Thursday Nov 17, 2011 at 5:30 PM.  The speaker will be Xin Liu, who will address "Will China sustain its rapid growth over the next 5 years?" from a Chinese perspective.

The DC Booth Alumni Club is starting a China Business Group that will meet once a month to discuss business topics related to China.

Event Details

The Booth DC China Group recognizes China's increasingly growing role in the global markets. The Group provides a platform for Booth alumni and other business professionals in the Washington DC area to gain additional insight into activities and developments that are impacting the business landscape in China. Meetings involve presentations from professionals engaged in business with, or within, China. Future speakers will likely include Ted Dean, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Beijing (and a Booth graduate), representatives from the China Embassy, and Chinese business and government staff visiting the US.


 


After the meeting there will be a short session to discuss organizational issues and volunteer opportunities for the new group.

Xin Liu (Speaker)
Senior VP (Asia Region), Washington Avenue International

Mr. Liu is a doctoral candidate from the University of Arizona, has an MA in International Relations and holds a BA and BE from University of Science and Technology of China. Mr. Liu has been keenly interested in economic issues in China for many years. By talking to friends from the central and provincial governments, business and academia, he continues to gather insights on the Chinese economy and political system. He has been back to China three times in the past year meeting with government and business officials. Since joining Les Johnson and Associates in 2010, Xin Liu has focused on building relationships with government and private sector officials as well as offering executive training programs to Chinese government and industry .
