Marguerite "Daisy" Platt (Speaker), Merrill Lynch

Marguerite "Daisy" Platt is a Financial Advisor in Global Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch. She began her career at Merrill Lynch in 1998 just after graduating from college and has since been with the GS Group, one of the top producing groups in Global Wealth Management. Working closely with multi–generational families, she helps clients organize their financial assets and maintain a disciplined financial strategy that is designed to grow and transfer their wealth. She educates and counsels younger clients about managing their money and works with business owners to help them maximize cash management and leverage possibilities.

Daisy holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses and the New York State Life and Health Insurance license. She is a member and volunteer with several of Bank of America's employee networks: HOLA (Hispanic/Latino Organization for Leadership & Advancement), WE (Women's Exchange), LEAD (Leadership, Education, Advocacy and Development) and IGEN (Inter-Generational Employee Network).

Daisy grew up in New York City and attended the Chapin School where she is still very active serving as a class secretary, fundraiser and co-chair of Class Representatives on the Alumnae Board. She received a B.S. in Spanish and Business from Georgetown University and also studied at the Universidad de Complutense in Madrid, Spain. She is fluent in Spanish. Daisy has been the captain of a tennis league called Tennis Tuesdays for 20 years and has competed with the US Tennis Association Mixed Manhattan League.

Karen L. Ireland, CFP (Speaker), MFS

Karen L. Ireland, CFP®, is a business development consultant at MFS Investment Management® (MFS®). She is responsible for delivering MFS' practice management solutions to financial advisors, with a focus on retirement and Social Security planning.

Karen joined MFS in 2015. Before that, she worked at Pioneer Investments for eight years, most recently as the practice management director, and also as a senior product manager and national retirement strategies consultant. She previously served as a senior analyst at Cerulli Associates for three years and as a senior internal wholesaler at Sun Life Distributors, Inc. for four years. She began her career in the financial services industry in 1999, when she joined Manulife Financial as a key accounts annuity service specialist.

Karen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gustavus Adolphus College. She holds the Certified Financial PlannerTM designation and holds Series 7 and 66 licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
