The Chicago Booth Alumni Club of Chicago ("CBAC") is opening nominations to add three members to its board of directors. The CBAC is an alumni-run, not-for-profit volunteer organization which provides a community for continuing education opportunities, exchange of ideas, and fostering of relationships between club members and within the Chicago Booth community.

Details:

  • Each board seat represents a two year term of service
  • The CBAC meets monthly to discuss programing ideas and execution
  • Total time commitment is between 2 – 5 hours per month (will be greater in some months) to attend meetings, plan/execute events, and participate in related activities
  • Participation on the board is open to Chicago-area, Chicago Booth alumni
  • Board members are responsible for designing and executing programing for Chicago-area alumni (and beyond) leveraging the vast resources and intellectual capital of the Chicago Booth community
  • Participation on the CBAC board is a great way for alumni to build and maintain relationships with other alumni, Chicago Booth faculty and staff, network generally, and develop continued learning opportunities across the Chicago Booth community
  • The CBAC existing board of directors is accepting nominations for the three available board seats through the end of September
  • Following the nominations window, CBAC board members will conduct interviews of appropriate candidates during the month of October
  • The CBAC board of directors will vote on new members in early November and will announce new members as part of the CBAC annual meeting which will take place on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021
  • There is no financial obligation to be a member of the CBAC board of directors

The cover letter should include:

  • Relevant background information and why you are interested in joining the board
  • Any specific value, whether it be specific relationships you have within the Booth alumni community and/or Booth faculty, or specific programming initiatives, you could bring to the board
  • Acknowledgement of the time commitment involved in board participation and indication you are willing to commit and uphold the responsibilities
