However, merely focusing on learning (or teaching) coaching skills is insufficient. Successful executives must continuously supplement their domain knowledge and industry expertise with people skills—the ability to lead and enable others. They must also communicate and model those same skills across all levels of their organization, i.e., they need to transform this individual skill into an organizational one by developing that capacity in the people they lead, and work with. In short, coaching is a culture.

Suzy Davidkhanian, '06 will be in conversation with Ruchira Chaudhary, '13 (AXP-11) – author of Coaching the Secret Code to Uncommon Leadership and Noah Askin, MBA '13, PhD '14, Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at INSEAD. The two guests will share learnings from Ruchira's book and discuss how coaching is no longer a "nice to have'' aspect of leadership - it is essential. They will also share some thoughts on how leaders can effectively and deliberately instill coaching into the culture of their teams and organizations.
