Event Details

This 60 minute event will be divided into two parts. The first 30 minutes will be spent highlighting our 3 speakers and their businesses in a panel format. You will be hearing from a CEO of a PE firm, a manager at DoorDash and the owner of one of the hottest restaurants in West Loop.


After the speakers share their stories, we will break into Zoom breakout rooms to have 30 minutes of networking with local Booth alumni. Whether you are looking to network for new opportunities, socialize with Booth alumni or simply get a couple of tips about new restaurants for summer fun with the family - this event will be perfect for you.

Josh Carl, ’05, is CEO of a Chicago-based Private Equity & Real Estate company.  Josh previously served as Managing Partner of Jellyfish Restaurant,  Stockton Restaurant & Lounge and currently at Mansion (on Rush) opening this May on Chicago’s historic Rush Street.

Marisa Bast (Speaker) '21
Manager, Enterprise Restaurants, DoorDash

Marisa Bast, recent graduate of University of Chicago's Booth School of Business, is a Manager at DoorDash and is responsible for building and growing a book of business within the DoorDash Drive product line. She manages the sales, adoption and account management lifecycle for some of DoorDash's largest Enterprise restaurant clients (e.g. Wendy's, KFC, and Portillo's, among others).

Manish Mallick (Speaker)
Owner, ROOH Chicago

Manish is heading operations at ROOH Chicago. One of Manish's biggest passions has been meeting new people and forming meaningful connections. The hospitality industry let's him do just that everyday. He wanted to change the perception of Indian cuisine by bringing a progressive, artful and vibrant Indian concept to Chicago.

He spent most of his career in marketing, finance and technology. He has a successful track record of driving operational efficiencies in the automotive, finance & legal industries using Cloud based technologies. He has made significant contributions working for some of the icons of US economy, namely, General Motors, JP Morgan Chase & Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
