Join us for an Ivy Circle event on Thursday February 17th. The Kellogg Alumni Club of Benelux presents “The Road To Gold” with Olympic gold medalist Bas van de Goor at the Olympic Experience, Olympic Stadium, Amsterdam.
Bas van de Goor will present the inspiring story of the Dutch national volleyball team’s gold medal journey at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
All entrance fees will be donated to benefit the cystic fibrosis research charity ‘Run for you Son’.

Presentation “The Road to Gold”
Bas would like to talk about the Dutch national team’s road to Atlanta. What were the goals of the team? Who were the players and how did the coach form them into a team? Towards the end of the Olympic cycle and just before the Olympics, tension rises and they had to deal with the pressure both from within and outside the team. How did they cope with that until the last moment? He will share examples and anecdotes that will motivate and inspire you. Afterwards, Bas looks forward to meeting with you.

Bas van de Goor (Speaker)
Bas van de Goor (1971) is a former Dutch volleyball player who won the Olympic gold medal with his teammates during the 1996 Summer Olympics. This achievement was voted the most memorable sport event of the twentieth century. In 2003, Bas was diagnosed with diabetes type 1 and a few years later, he started his own foundation with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for people with diabetes through exercise and sports.
