SAMUEL W.T. CHU (Speaker) '87
Co-founder, Managing Partner & Chief Investment Officer, Phoenix Property Investors
Mr. Chu is Co-founder, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Phoenix Property Investors. Mr. Chu has more than 30 years of real estate investment and corporate advisory experience in Asia, Europe and the U.S. Prior to founding of Phoenix in 2002, Mr. Chu worked in major international banks and financial institutions with postings in Hong Kong, New York, Frankfurt and Tokyo. He also had substantial investment and advisory experience, focusing on real estate, and public and private equities for a range of clients including listed companies.
Mr. Chu has been investing in real estate since 1989 with a track record of approximately US$9 billion of invested assets around the world.
Mr. Chu holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. He graduated cum laude with Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Art in Finance and International Management from Georgetown University. He also serves as a member of Board of Overseers of Squash Education Alliance.
YEUK YAN RENEE HUNG (Speaker)
Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Value Partners Group
Ms. Renee HUNG is Deputy Chief Investment Officer of Value Partners Group, responsible for the overall management of the investment management team. She also holds a leadership role in the Group's investment process and commands a high degree of responsibility for portfolio management. Ms. HUNG is a member of the Board of Directors of Value Partners Group.
Ms. HUNG has extensive experience in the financial industry, with a solid track record in research and portfolio management. She joined Value Partners as an Analyst in April 1998. She was promoted to the roles of Fund Manager and Senior Fund Manager in 2004 and 2005, respectively. In March 2009, she was promoted to her current role of Deputy Chief Investment Officer.
From 2012/2013 to 2016/2017, Ms. HUNG served as a member of the Board of Directors of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals in Hong Kong.
Ms. HUNG holds an Executive MBA degree from the City University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of California in Los Angeles.
