Event Details
Since opening its doors in 1914, the Apollo Theater has played a central role in the emergence of jazz, swing, bebop, R&B, gospel, blues, and soul. Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, and Gladys Knight are just a few of the well-known names that have graced the Apollo stage--and you can too. While you're there, be sure to rub the Tree of Hope, which has served as a good luck charm for countless performers and visitors alike. This is a family-friendly event. Please meet at the front of the theater no later than 12:45. We will have your ticket waiting.
