Each year, the Chicago Booth Alumni Club invites a distinguished professor or executive as keynote speaker for our flagship Annual Meeting. A premier occasion, the evening provides an opportunity for all alums (and guests) to enjoy the best aspects of the Booth experience, tapping into some of the best learning coming out of the Booth community, getting an update from Acting Dean Harry Davis, and connecting with old and new friends during a pre-meeting reception and relaxing dinner. As an added incentive, all members who attend the annual meeting will be provided a special priority sign-up opportunity for the Club’s special “Lessons on Leadership” workshop series scheduled for Winter 2011, a highly anticipated offering which is sure to sell out quickly.

Speaker Profiles
Jeffrey J. Anderson (Speaker)
Associate Dean, Leadership Development, Chicago Booth
Jeff Anderson joined the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in January 2007. In this role, he has responsibility for the Leadership Effectiveness and Development (LEAD) program as well as other leadership development activities for full-time MBA students.
Mr. Anderson is also a partner and co-founder of The Chatham Group, an association of executive coaching professionals with many years of experience as senior business leaders. Mr. Anderson has worked with senior executives in the distribution, consumer product, energy, investment banking, consulting, telecommunication and automotive industries.
Before starting The Chatham Group, he spent seventeen years with RR Donnelley & Sons Company, a leading provider of commercial printing, distribution and marketing communication services. As the global head of Corporate Development, Mr. Anderson built a team that led the organization’s strategic planning efforts and completed more than 40 acquisitions and joint ventures throughout North America, South America and Europe. During his tenure at RR Donnelley, he also held a variety of corporate finance roles, served as the head of a $100 million manufacturing operation and was the President of European Operations.
Prior to joining RR Donnelley & Sons Company, Mr. Anderson spent several years with Arthur Young & Company in Chicago where he led the audits of various manufacturing and service companies.
Mr. Anderson received a BA in economics and accounting from Carthage College and an MBA from The University of Chicago.
Harry L. Davis (Speaker)
Interim Dean, Roger L. and Rachel M. Goetz Distinguished Service Professor of Creative Management, Chicago Booth
Harry L. Davis studies leadership, strategy, creativity and innovation. His scholarly research has appeared in a number of top-tier academic journals, including the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Marketing. Among his publications are "The Promising Start-up Within: A Guide to Internal Corporate Venturing," written with Russ Rosenzweig and published in The Virtual Strategist in October 2001, and "Purchasing Behavior in Embedded Markets," written with fellow Chicago Booth faculty member Jonathan Frenzen and published in the June 1990 issue of the Journal of Consumer Research.
Davis will serve as interim dean until Sunil Kumar starts his tenure on January 1, 2011. He previously served as deputy dean at Booth from 1983 to 1993 and has been a member of the school’s faculty since 1963. He works closely with deputy deans Stacey Kole, Richard Leftwich, and Mark Zmijewski to maintain the school’s momentum and leadership.
