How is your vision these days? Ram Charan and Larry Bossidy, leading business experts find that few business leaders manage to perceive and comprehend the full business environment. As such, limited vision is a leading source of failure. This month, our discussion topic for the Strategic Management Practices Issues Group will focus on execution. If you are familiar with the paradox of the chicken egg problem and wondering which comes first, then you'll appreciate this topic. Charan makes a compelling case and, with his partner Larry Bossidy, offers a series of examples demonstrating that strategy may come first, yet sometimes a competitive problem forces a new strategy. After revisiting Michael Porter's work on the Five forces, August's topic promises to keep you on your toes and challenge you to find and develop some alternative lines of sight. Mark your calendar and join us on August 20, (that's the third Friday), at 7:30am at our usual location. The reading assignment for the discussion will be posted on the registration page. Please register online at the web page listed below if you plan to attend. Our space is limited, so if your plans change, please let us know so we can give your spot to another interested participant.
