Thomas H. Miner is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of THOMAS H. MINER & ASSOCIATES, an international business consulting firm active in key regions. He is the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of THE MID-AMERICA COMMITTEE FOR INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS AND GOVERNMENT COOPERATION, INC., whose members comprise the chief executive officers of multinational corporations in the Midwest. Mr. Miner was a President of Illinois Global Partnership, a private-public partnership responsible for building the State of Illinois as a dynamic region for global business, and for six years the Director of International Business of Urban Retail Properties Company, the national leader in property management. Mr. Miner has befriended and hosted thousand of dignitaries, government officials, and international personalities at conferences and receptions around the world. For decades he brought heads of state to Chicago, from President Aliyev of Azerbaijan to President Chirac of France to Premier Zhu Rongji of China. He currently consults at this level throughout the world and devotes a significant amount of his time to China. Mr. Miner’s diverse experience includes a distinguished career as chief of international operations for several U.S. companies. After serving as attorney for the Continental Illinois National Bank & Trust Company of Chicago, Mr. Miner ventured abroad as head of a Venezuelan subsidiary and then a Mexican manufacturing operation for a Chicago manufacturer. Convinced that many American firms lack the information to take full advantage of opportunities in the international field, Mr. Miner formed Thomas H. Miner & Associates in 1960. His many clients have included from the largest to medium and small U.S. firms, as well as the State and Commerce Departments of the U. S. Government, foreign companies, foreign governments, and such supranational bodies as UNIDO and the Asian Development Bank.
