Event Details

A recent New York Times article touted that unemployment is at an unprecedented low; however, people are not earning a higher wage. Instead, employers are giving bonuses. Yet, how effective are they at increasing employee productivity?

Please join the Chicago Booth Bay Area Alumni Club and the Harvard Club of Silicon Valley for an engaging panel discussion about incentives in the workplace. Panelists will explore the efficacy of incentives like signing bonuses, golden parachutes, and year-end bonuses.

Korok is an Associate Professor at the Mays Business School of Texas A&M University, and Director of the Mays Innovation Research Center. He is formerly of the Accounting faculty at the Chicago Booth School of Business, and has served on the President's Councial of Economic Advisors. Korok's core area of research is performance measurement: the study of incentives, risk/reward, and compensation for human performance. This application includes executives, chief financial officers, financial traders, farmers, doctors, teachers, rank and file employees, bankers, and even athletes. His research seeks to create economic models of human behavior and to design incentive systems to achieve better outcomes for all.
