Rebecca Jarvis AB'03 (Speaker)

Rebecca Jarvis is ABC News' Chief Business, Technology & Economics Correspondent. An Emmy-award winning journalist she is host of ABC's podcast featuring game changing women, No Limits with Rebecca Jarvis and reports for all ABC News programs including Good Morning America, World News Tonight, 20/20, and Nightline.

Jarvis is a recipient of the Women in Numbers Award, named one of the top business journalists in the country by The Alliance for Women in Media. She has conducted worldwide exclusive interviews with the likes of Apple CEO Tim Cook and United CEO Oscar Munoz following the controversy surrounding the airline's forceful removal of a passenger; and has conducted news making interviews with the biggest names in business, including Warren Buffett, Richard Branson, Sheryl Sandberg, Jessica Alba, Bill and Melinda Gates, and Mary Barra.

A graduate of the University of Chicago, Jarvis holds a degree in Economics and Constitutional Law and began her career in finance.

Ari Paul MBA'14 (Speaker)

Ari Paul is co-founder and CIO of BlockTower Capital. BlockTower is a leading crytpocurrency hedge fund that was founded in 2017. He was previously a portfolio manager for the University of Chicago's $8 billion endowment, and a derivatives market maker and proprietary trader for Susquehanna International Group (SIG).

Ari is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (BA, Political Science) and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (MBA). Ari is a CFA charterholder.

Preston Byrne (Speaker)

Preston Byrne is an English-qualified structured finance lawyer, fellow of the Adam Smith Institute and a founder and former COO of Monax, the first company in the world to release an open-source enterprise or "permissioned" blockchain design, now known as Hyperledger Burrow. Preston's past work has included representing or deploying smart contract systems in some of the world's largest banks. He currently works as an independent consultant advising on the deployment of smart contract systems. Preston is a thoughtful and vocal critic of exaggerated prices and projects in the world cryptocurrencies.

He has an English law degree from the University of Law, London Moorgate and is expected to obtain his U.S. law degree from the University of Connecticut in May.

Joel Gantcher (Speaker)

Joel has been allocating to alternative investments for nearly 20 years. He began his career at Alpha Investment Management, and subsequently served as Partner and Director of Research for both Cadogan Management and Alternative Investment Group, where he specialized in emerging managers and strategies.

In late 2016 Joel transitioned to working with his own family office. Gantcher Family Partners invests opportunistically across strategies, geographies and asset classes. Joel has spent considerable effort researching and identifying crypto investment opportunities.

Joel is a graduate of Brown University and Wharton Business School.
