Michael Armstrong (Moderator) '02

Michael D. Armstrong is the General Manager of BET Networks. In this role, Armstrong drives strategy and operations, with direct oversight of the Content Strategy and Multiplatform Scheduling, Marketing, Corporate Communications, and Operations teams.

Armstrong first joined MTV Networks in 1998 and held various sales and affiliate marketing roles for brands including MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and CMT in both the New York and Chicago offices. Prior to this new role, Armstrong was Executive Vice President and General Manager, Revenue and Emerging Brands for Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) where he managed the development and expansion of BET, Paramount Channel, and Spike as well as oversaw International Program Sales, Affiliate Sales, and Viacom Velocity International, (VIMN's ad sales division).

Armstrong received a B.S. in Marketing from Hampton University, where he also serves on the board. He received an M.B.A. in Strategy and Marketing from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he was honored with the Distinguished Young Alumni Award in 2012. He is a member of the International Academy of Television Entertainment Arts & Sciences; Chairman of the Board for the Dance Theatre of Harlem; Board member of Public Radio International (PRI) and is past Chair for NAMIC (National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications) Board of Directors

Courtney Hall (Panelist) '03

Courtney Hall is a co-founder and Managing Director of Hillcrest Venture Partners. Before co-founding Hillcrest, Courtney co-founded EXACT Sports, a company that performs quantitative assessments of high school and collegiate student/athletes. Prior to EXACT, Courtney was an investment banker and an attorney.
Courtney was the starting center for the NFL San Diego Chargers from 1989 to 1997 and served as Captain, four-time Pro Bowl 1st Alternate, and an NFL Players Association team representative. Courtney serves as a Bloomberg Mayoral Appointee of the New York City Campaign Finance Board and Board of Trustees of the Randall's Island Park Alliance.
Courtney holds a JD/MBA from the University of Chicago, and a BA in Economics and Managerial Studies from Rice University.

Lauren Holland (Panelist) '01

Lauren A. Holland is Senior Credit Analyst with CreditSights, an independent credit research firm where she covers paper and package industries. Lauren began her career in Finance at Lehman Brothers as a high yield analyst and has worked at Citi, Raeburn Advisors, BOE Securities covering various industries while developing custom credit research in support of sales, trading, marketing, and client service business functions.
Outside of finance, Lauren manages "Hollywood" Hino Ehikhamenor and currently serves as Co-Chair, Special Events for the Eastern Region of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Inc and Co-Chair of Wall Street Friends, a nationwide network of professionals of color in financial services.
Lauren holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from The University of Oklahoma and an MBA with an emphasis in Finance and Entrepreneurship from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Sheena White (Panelist) '12

Sheena White is a Director of New Partnership Development at American Express. Previously, she managed a $10B merchant portfolio and was a strategist in the firm's internal consulting group. Prior to American Express, Sheena interned at Walmart and worked at Goldman Sachs.
Striving to unlock opportunities and empower, Sheena sits on Villanova University's College of Engineering Advisory Board and the Girl Scouts of Great New York Leadership Advisory Board.
Sheena holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University.
Sheena resides in NYC with her husband, 2 sons, and dog.
