Emmett McCann MBA'04 (Speaker)
Managing Director and Co-Portfolio Manager, Oaktree Capital

Mr. McCann is a managing director and co-portfolio manager of Oaktree's Infrastructure Investing strategy, specializing in the transportation sector. He joined Oaktree in 2014 from Highstar Capital with over 19 years of experience in private equity, investment banking and finance. Prior to joining Highstar in 2009, Mr. McCann helped lead Morgan Stanley's infrastructure effort in Europe and North America. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he worked in infrastructure investment banking at Goldman Sachs. Over his career, Mr. McCann has advised multiple government agencies (both in the U.S. and internationally) on Public-Private Partnerships ("PPP") across the transportation sector. Mr. McCann currently serves on the boards of directors of the Ports America Companies, Aerostar Airport Holdings, LoneStar Airport Holdings LLC and CrowdVision Ltd. He holds a B.A. degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago.

Pradeep Ramamurthy AM'04 (Speaker)
Managing Director, The Abraaj Group

Pradeep Ramamurthy is a Managing Director of The Abraaj Group, the largest private capital firm focused exclusively on fast-growing markets across Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Turkey. He is based in their New York City office, which he helped establish. Prior to joining Abraaj, Mr. Ramamurthy served in a number of senior national security and foreign policy positions at the White House, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and U.S. Agency for International Development. Immediately prior to leaving the U.S. Government, Mr. Ramamurthy was the Deputy Counselor for Innovation at USAID. For the previous four years, Mr. Ramamurthy worked at the White House under President Bush and President Obama as the first-ever Senior Director for Global Engagement and previously as a director on and advisor to the Homeland Security Council. Prior to his time at the White House, Mr. Ramamurthy served in a number of senior roles across the U.S. Intelligence Community. Mr. Ramamurthy has a B.Sc. in International Politics from Georgetown University and a M.A. from the University of Chicago.

Randy Schwimmer AM’79 (Speaker)
Senior Managing Director, Churchill Asset Management LLC, and Founder/Publisher, The Lead Left LLC

Randy Schwimmer is Senior Managing Director and Head of Origination and Capital Markets at Churchill Asset Management LLC. Churchill is a credit asset management firm affiliated with TIAA-CREF Asset Management that provides senior debt to middle market companies. Mr. Schwimmer is also editor/publisher of "The Lead Left," Churchill's weekly newsletter reviewing deals and trends in the capital markets and read by many influential industry participants.

In 2006, Mr. Schwimmer became a founding partner and Head of Capital Markets at Churchill Financial LLC, a middle market finance company acquired by The Carlyle Group in 2011. At Carlyle, he was a Managing Director responsible for all middle market loan capital markets activities, including loan structuring, syndications and distribution within the Carlyle GMS team. Prior to Churchill, Mr. Schwimmer was a Managing Director and Head of Leveraged Finance Syndication for BNP Paribas where he structured and syndicated leveraged transactions for the bank's private equity clients. Before that, he spent 15 years at JP Morgan Chase in Corporate Banking and Loan Syndications in several capacities where he was responsible for originating, structuring and syndicating leveraged loans. Mr. Schwimmer is a graduate of Trinity College (BA) cum laude and received his MA from the University of Chicago.

Michael Siegel (Speaker)
Managing Director, Global Head of Insurance Asset Management, Goldman Sachs Asset Management

Mike is the global head of the Insurance Asset Management business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The business is responsible for providing solutions to insurance companies seeking to outsource the management of their balance sheet assets, including traditional and alternative asset classes. He also serves as a senior MD champion for the Investment Management Division (IMD) for the Disability Interest Forum. Mike has extensive insurance and investment experience in structuring and managing portfolios across a broad range of fixed income and equity asset classes and has been responsible for businesses within IMD and the Securities Division. Previously, he was responsible for the Americas Markets Solutions Group within IMD and also led the Insurance Industry Resource Group, which works closely with insurers on asset-liability management, asset allocation, capital allocation and risk management issues.

Mike first joined Goldman Sachs in 1986, rejoined the firm as a managing director in 2000 and was named partner in 2012. Prior to rejoining the firm, Mike spent four years at General Reinsurance, where he was responsible for North American marketing for the General Re Financial Products subsidiary, working closely with General Re's insurance clients. Mike earned a BA in Economics from Clark University and an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Michigan.

Sheryl Schwartz (Speaker)
Managing Director, Caspian Private Equity

Sheryl Schwartz is a Managing Director at Caspian Private Equity, leading investments in primary and secondary funds. She is a member of the Investment and Executive Committee. From 2010 to 2013, Sheryl was a Managing Director of Perseus Finance and is one of three partners responsible for fundraising, sourcing, evaluating and making direct mezzanine and structured equity investments in connection with leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and growth financings. Prior to joining Perseus, Ms. Schwartz had a successful career at TIAA split between fixed income and alternative investments. Ms. Schwartz built and led TIAA-CREF's Alternative Investment team, which included investments in private equity funds, co-investments, mezzanine debt and timber.

She serves on the Board of Directors of the Women's Association of Venture and Equity, Inc. (WAVE), a long-time member of the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA). Ms Schwartz is also on the advisory board of Palico and Peracs. Ms Schwartz also served as an LP Advisory Board member for many private equity funds and AIF. Ms Schwartz was one of Mergers & Acquisitions "Most Influential Women in the Mid Market M&A" in both 2015 and 2016. Ms. Schwartz holds both a B.S. and an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University.

Gilbert Ong '09 (Moderator)
Senior Director, TIAA

Gilbert Ong is a Senior Director in the Investment Risk and Strategy group at TIAA, where he is responsible for modeling, setting limits and formulating stress tests for a range of asset classes such as Commercial Real Estate, Agriculture, Timber and Private Equity. Prior to joining TIAA, Gilbert was an Executive Director in the hedge fund consulting group at MSCI, responsible for $6 million annual revenue and also managed the Americas Risk Management Analytics Presales Team which worked on $11 million of deals.

Over the past 17 years, Gilbert has also served as Quantitative Analyst/Strategist at hedge fund, Platinum Partners, lead Asia structured credit analyst at Fitch Ratings and CIBC World Market and as a quantitative credit portfolio manager at UOB/OCBC Asset Management. Gilbert started his career in Asian Equity Research in Salomon Smith Barney. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a MA in Statistics from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Accounting (Honors) from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
