Daniel Eckert, HSBC Card & Retail Services, will discuss the hard reality of innovation for most large companies – particularly the multi-divisional ones – the difficulty to sustain innovation efforts to fully realize them. Competing divisional interests, power struggles, and frequent leadership changes can all work to disrupt innovation efforts – well before they have a chance to take hold in the market place. For innovation professionals, this adds significant complexity and risk to the process of innovation delivery. This roundtable, led by financial services innovation veteran, Daniel Eckert, Senior Vice President, HSBC, will explore these complexities, the challenges and pitfalls associated with practicing innovation in the large corporate arena, and some lessons learned on how to position oneself for success if found in an innovation role within a large organization.
