You are invited to join us for a MicroForests Japanese Terrarium Making Workshop.

MicroForests Description
MicroForests is a social enterprise that creates social impact by providing DIY Japanese terrarium workshops and gifts, facilitated by low-income / new migrant mothers. Based in Shum Shui Po, MicroForests' provides training to these 'Stay-at-home Mothers', who receive training and become designers and ambassadors of MicroForests' terrarium artwork. MicroForests provides flexible work arrangements, which suit mothers who may need to care for their children. Moreover, MicroForests offers these women additional income, opportunities for social exposure and empowerment.

MicroForests' founder, Rainbow Chow, started started MicroForests in 2014. Having been on the frontline supporting those living in poverty as well as with her work in social services and with NGOs, she came across many new migrant mothers, single parents, and even educated full time mothers who found it difficult to find suitable work in Hong Kong. Rainbow's experience with these new migrant mothers, her interest in art and floral arrangement, as well as her entrepreneurial spirit inspired her to start MicroForests. Rainbow holds degrees from from HKU in Bachelor of Social Work, and a Masters Degree of Social Services Management.

We look forward to hosting this event at Chicago Booth!
