About Us

About Us

BANC is a Chicago Booth initiative that leverages alumni expertise to support nonprofits through pro bono engagements. We are currently focusing on serving nonprofits in the Chicago area.  All Booth alumni are welcome to apply to participate in BANC projects and join committees.

BANC was collaboratively developed by Gayle Haller ‘87, Judy Maley ‘84, the Dean, the Office of Alumni Relations and the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation. The first pilot projects were completed in 2015.

We are an entirely volunteer-run initiative. Meet our leadership:

Robin Simon, '89

Robin combines deep professional expertise in marketing analytics along with extensive experience in volunteering. Prior to starting her own consulting practice in 2003, Robin worked in analytics and forecasting at Helene Curtis and Kraft.  She currently volunteers with the Chicago Architecture Center, Alzheimers’ Association and Lakeview Pantry. Since volunteering for her first BANC project in 2016, Robin has led projects for clients in the arts, education and healthcare, and was a member of the task force on strategic reorganization to better serve alumni and nonprofits. Read more about Robin here. Robin took over as BANC director on May 1, 2021.

“I found it very rewarding to apply my analytical skills to benefit BANC’s nonprofit clients. And I haven’t stopped.”

Operating Board

Current and past BANC consultants offer ongoing guidance and support through the formal BANC Operating Board.  We also welcome Booth alumni new to BANC to help keep the organization running.  If you are interested in learning more or volunteering for one of these committees please contact BANC@chicagobooth.edu.
