New President for 2020!

Hello Bay Area Booth Alumni,
As we enter a new decade, I’m thrilled to announce a new President for The Chicago Booth Alumni Club of San Francisco, Ajay Manglani ‘13.
Ajay came from Chicago to the Bay Area in the summer of 2018 with an immediate desire to get involved and make an impact in our alumni community. His Silicon Valley happy hour series has engaged club event regulars as well as alumni who have never attended an event before, with a focus on enabling real connections and inclusivity.
Ajay is a veteran of the tech and entrepreneurship industry, and has already become an integral part of the tech community in the Bay Area. He is passionate about building a thriving and engaging alumni community, and excited about the opportunity to bring together alumni from all parts of the Bay Area, from San Francisco to the East Bay and South Bay.
This past decade has seen incredible growth and momentum within our local community. We have seen our numbers grow to over 3,000 alumni, with more and more recent graduates moving out here. Over the course of a year you’ll see some 30-40 events offered, all put on by a dedicated extended team of volunteers. The Chicago Booth Angel Network started a local chapter, which quickly got down to business, writing checks and attracting impressive entrepreneurs to their regular pitch events. The Chicago Booth Women’s Network contributes a strong and steady stream of events, from the popular annual teas and brunches to career-focused panels. The mothership continues to prioritize a presence here, with crowd-favorites like Summer and Winter Fusions and Polsky Center events.
And the local alumni club, which I’ve had the great honor of leading these past few years, has been actively organizing everything else. Some highlights from the past few years: Product Management series; Founders Club series; Family BBQs; Lagunitas Sustainability tour; Wine Testing with Professor Roman Weil; speakers like Jason Calacanis and Jeremy Stoppelman (CEO, Yelp); and Silicon Valley and San Francisco happy hours.
If there is something you would like to see in the community, get involved! There will be a volunteer meetup on Monday, March 9
. All are welcome, you can register here.
I’m thrilled to be passing the torch to Ajay; I know with his leadership and your help it will shine brighter than ever for the amazing and growing community we have out here.
