Vice President, Consumer Payments
Max Bardon leads Amazon’s Consumer Payments organization, which is responsible for the technology and external relationships that enables Amazon to accept payments globally, optimize our cost of payments, and provide the paying customer experience to customers for purchasing goods, services and subscriptions across Amazon. Consumer Payments is also responsible for Amazon’s portfolio of payment products including all co-brand and private label credit cards, installment lending, Gift Cards, prepaid stored value and Amazon’s shop with Points program, Currency conversion business for customers and sellers, and Seller lending. Max recently took responsibility for Amazon Pay, the business that makes it easy for Amazon customers to extend their shopping experience beyond Amazon.
Prior to Amazon, Max spent 10+ years in growth stage companies including 8 years as CEO of WhitePages.com and was a cofounder of GiftCertificates.com. Prior to working in the Internet, Max was a consultant for Bain & Co and started his career at Procter and Gamble.
He has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School and undergraduate degrees in Management Information Systems and Accounting from the University of Cincinnati.
