Chris Orndorff, ’89
Chief Investment Officer
Chris Orndorff is the chief investment officer of Vulcan Capital. He directs asset allocation which is mostly comprised of internally managed assets in cash, fixed income, public equity, venture capital, growth equity, and private equity. Chris works with the portfolio managers in each asset class to assist them in producing outstanding risk adjusted returns. He chairs the investment committee, which is involved in total portfolio asset allocation, including real estate, fine art, and sports teams.
Prior to Vulcan, Chris was a senior portfolio manager at Western Asset, where he managed multi-sector and absolute return portfolios, and supervised the derivatives team. His previous portfolio management experience at Payden & Rygel and Northern Trust involved managing global equity portfolios, global balanced portfolios, and global fixed income portfolios for institutional investors. Chris served on the board of Mercer Advisors for several years. He earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a BS from Miami University. He is a CFA charterholder.
