Maged Latif

Maged is currently a senior advisor to HSBC Holdings and to the chief executive of Global Banking and Markets (GB&M), the bank’s corporate and investment banking division. In 2017, Maged assumed an additional role advising the Board of Saudi British Bank on its publicly announced and landmark merger discussions with Alawwal Bank in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Maged joined HSBC Holdings in 2009 as deputy global head of M&A and a senior member of HSBC’s strategy team. In 2011, Maged was promoted and appointed to a newly created role co-heading HSBC’s Financial Institutions Advisory business globally. Prior to joining HSBC, Maged was at Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan in London.

His corporate finance experience spans across Europe and the Middle East, the Americas, Africa, and Asia, including in-market and cross border consolidation, restructuring situations during and post the Financial Crisis, large-cap public market mergers, privatizations of financial institutions, private equity investments, non-core divestitures, as well as equity and debt capital market financings.

Maged earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, MSc international relations from the London School of Economics, and a bachelor’s of commerce from the University of Manitoba in Canada.
