Chicago is a great city. It's very diverse. There's plenty of things to do, and coming from London that was an important factor for me. I live in Millennium Park Plaza, known as MPP, so that's a very popular building for Booth students to live in. It's a high percentage of Booth. You can just knock on your friend's door and have a cup of tea or do something nice. So that's why I chose to live there. I wanted to live right in the Booth community and feel like I'm at the heart of everything. It feels like a community that's very supportive. You've got so many close friends that are always helping you and encouraging you, and everyone's pushing themselves. Before Booth, I was working in investment banking in London, doing debt capital markets, so raising financing for different firms. This summer I'm going to Amazon doing a finance internship. If I can sort of match my finance skills with tech, I felt like it was a perfect kind of role in terms of having those two skill sets.

I think Booth is a great place of instilling confidence in yourself. So you're in this environment that feels safe. But you're still pushed to the limits in some respects. You have many opportunities to actually take on leadership roles. It's very self-evaluative. What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? How do you improve them? I've also joined a couple of career clubs, so I'm part of Tech Group, which has been so helpful in terms of getting ready for interviews and getting a lot of support from second years who've always been there. So just having the chance to practice in a place where you feel comfortable, I think it will help me a lot in the future. I think the Booth brand is so strong that you feel confident that whatever you want to do next, it's going to be easy to do it. So whether it's UK or the US, whatever you want to do, it's going to be doable.
