Our leadership team would like to formally announce the name change of AAMBAA/HABSA to its new name AAMBAA (African-American MBA Association). This move to our new name was voted on to create simplicity in our nomenclature, create greater synergy with our Full-Time counterpart, and help execute our goals of increasing diversity within the Booth community across all programs (FT/PT/XP). We believe between the efforts of AAMBAA and the Latin American Business Group (LABG) the unique needs of African-American and Latin American students can be achieved.

As always, all students (current members or not) of all ethnicities are always welcomed and encouraged to become a part of AAMBAA. No current members will be removed from our active membership database. We believe this new platform will allow us to execute on our three primary objectives in a more effective manner:

1. Organize events to promote the growth of strong relationships, both personal and professional, among minority students, alumni, and the business community.
2. Provide opportunities for minority students to engage in community service projects to give back and promote the Chicago Booth brand.
3. Assist the university’s minority recruitment efforts toward creating a more diverse student body and classroom experience.

We hope that everyone will take the time to explore our new organization and offer feedback on how we can serve you better. We all look forward to having a significant impact on the Booth community and all of its students!
