Admission Decisions

The Evening MBA Program matriculates approximately 450 students a year, and the Weekend MBA Program matriculates approximately 100 students a year. All decisions are released through the online application system under the Application Status section.

  • Admit - Students are admitted to the program pending receipt of official transcripts and test scores. Admittees will receive additional information via the mailed admissions packet and the admitted student portal.
  • Waitlist - The waitlist is used when a decision is unable to be reached at this time. After the deadline, the applicant will be notified of the final decision.
  • Denied - All decisions are final. If you were not successful in the admissions process and are interested in re-applying to Chicago Booth, we encourage you to do so.

Waitlist Candidate Information

A few points to note about our waitlist:

  • We do not rank the order of our waitlist.
  • Applicants on the waitlist are welcome to send updated materials only if there have been developments since the time of the initial application.
  • If we require additional materials, applicants will be notified.

Re-applicants

If you choose to re-apply, you must wait six months after the date your application was submitted before re-applying to any Chicago Booth program for a subsequent quarter to which you originally applied. You are considered a re-applicant if you have completed an application within the last two years. Your application will be kept on file for two years. You will not have to resubmit transcripts and test scores unless there is updated information.

Successful applicants in the re-application process have demonstrated growth through career progress, academic preparation, and/or community involvement. In your re-application, it is strongly recommended that you address the ways you have strengthened your application since you last applied.

For your re-application to be considered complete, you must start a new application for the quarter to which you are re-applying. In addition to completing new essay questions, re-applicants must also submit a new letter of recommendation and conduct an additional interview with the Admissions Committee.

For additional information on re-reapplying, please log on to our online application system.
