Professor Richard Thaler Nudged the Media Twice in One Day

Writing in two well-respected newspapers, Richard Thaler, Ralph and Dorothy Keller Distinguished Service Professor of Behavioral Science and Economics, applied “libertarian paternalism” to current policy. In “Disclosure Is the Best Kind of Regulation” for the Wall Street Journal, Thaler applauded the Fed’s amendment to Truth in Lending and called for more transparency in credit regulation. In “The Dramatic Effect of a Firm Nudge”  for the Financial Times, he discussed how far politicians can take nudges. Both of his articles were printed on August 13.
