Rose Martinelli, Associate Dean of Student Recruitment and Admissions, is dedicated to making sure applicants to Chicago GSB “have all the information they need to help them make the right decision.” That can make for a grueling schedule, according to a profile of Martinelli in the Career Journal.
Starting in September, Martinelli told the Journal she can typically find herself flying all over the globe and back. One brief look at her travel schedule showed a trip to Mumbai, Dehli, Bangalore and Karachi for a round of receptions and meetings. She then came back to Chicago for a few days and was off again to Belgium.
Once the fall travel season winds down, Martinelli told the paper, she and her staff turn to reviewing the more than 3,500 applications. They are looking for those “diamonds in the rough” who will enrich the GSB with their unique perspective.
She sees herself, she told the Journal, as someone who was meant to help people. The payoff is “helping people line up their passions with the tools they need to be successful.”
