Our condolences go out to the Germanos Family on their loss

Nelson Pitaguari Germanos (1973 – 2005)

A tragic automobile accident claimed the life of our colleague, Nelson, last Saturday evening, August 20. Nelson was driving on the Tamoios Road toward the beach. He was buried on Sunday afternoon at 5 pm in the Cemetério do Redentor in São Paulo. Nelson is survived by his parents, Nelson Jorge Germanos and Maria Helena Cunha Pitaguari and his siblings, André, Marina and Roberto.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 26, at noon at the São Gabriel parish church – Av. São Gabriel, 108 – Jardim Paulista – São Paulo.

Nelson earned his MBA from the University of Chicago in May, 2002. He subsequently traveled to Russia where he participated through the MBA Enterprise Corps in a 15-month economic development project, an experience he shared with other alumni through an article on our web-site. Upon his return to São Paulo, Nelson worked with Claudio Furtado (MBA ’80) at CVF associates, before accepting the position of Chief Operating Officer of Arezzo – a franchise retailer of women’s footwear.
