The Asian Wall Street Journal took a look at global education in a July 12 article on “Redefining World Class – Top-Tier Western Universities are Expanding All over Asia.” The Journal cites statistics prepared by IDP Research, an Australian organization, that by 2025, 70% of the global demand for international education will come from Asia.
The Chicago GSB understands the growing need for education in Asia having established its Executive MBA program in Singapore in 2000. Dean Edward A. Snyder addressed the growing trend for global education in an article in Economic Times, an Indian publication. Snyder spoke about how the GSB’s model differs from many of the joint-ventures being established in Asia.
The Executive MBA programs in London and Singapore offer the exact same course of study as Chicago does using its own faculty on campuses built and maintained by the GSB. To reinforce this unified, global approach, students from Chicago, London and Singapore spend one-fourth of the program meeting together to foster learning among their peer executives.
Several photos taken at the GSB Singapore campus were featured in the article which appeared on the front page of the Journal’s “Networking” section.
