Wall Street Journal Names GSB Alumni Among Best Stock Pickers

The Wall Street Journal published its 2005 “Best on the Street” analyst survey on
May 16. Several GSB alum were among those listed.

Christopher Quilty, MBA ’96, was ranked the top stock analyst covering aerospace and defense. Quilty is vice president for equity research at Raymond James & Associates. He has made the list twice.

Todd Jordan, MBA ’96, was ranked the top analyst covering hotels and casinos. He left Buckingham Research early this year to join a hedge fund, the Journal reported. Jordan has made the cut four times.

Joel Gomberg, MBA ’92, leads the analyst covering investment services. Gomberg works as an analyst for William Blair. This is his third time on the list.

Brian G. Alexander, MBA ’00, placed fifth among analysts covering Computers & Office Equipment. Alexander is a vice president of Equity Analysis at Raymond James Financial Inc. He has appeared twice on the list.

Thomas M. Walkley, MBA ’99 , made the list for Telecommunications Equipment where he placed fifth. Walkley is a senior research analyst for Piper Jaffray.

Richard B. Shane Jr., MBA ’97, made the list in two categories. He ranked second in Consumer & Specialty Finance as well as fourth in Real Estate. Shane works at Jeffries. He too has appeared several times on previous lists.
