Consumer Protection Legislation: Subprime Mortgages & Beyond

Legislation designed to protect consumers from themselves and others is common in today's marketplace. Local and national legislation has been proposed to protect consumers from "unfair" mortgages and lending practices, to outlaw certain foods such as trans-fats, and to regulate product safety.

The panel will discuss the role for such legislation in the marketplace and the impact such legislation has had and is likely to have on consumers.
