Luis Miranda, '89

Luis Miranda has set up two companies and has extensive experience in dealing with early stage companies as well as private equity investing. In 2002, he set up IDFC Private Equity. Earlier, he was a Partner at ChrysCapital. Prior to that, he spent 11 years in sales and trading and was a key member of the start-up team at HDFC Bank, India's leading private sector bank.
He has also worked at HSBC Markets, Citibank, KPMG and PriceWaterhouse. Miranda is currently a Director of the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA) and is on the Board of Governors of the Centre for Fuel Studies and Research. He chairs the Asia Cabinet of the Global Advisory Board of the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Miranda has been involved with many industry-related committees over the past 15 years.
Miranda received an MBA from The University of Chicago and an Master of Commerce from the University of Mumbai. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and was a rank-holder at the ICAI examinations and at the Master of Commerce Part I.
Luis Miranda will be a panelist on the Session A panel, India, China and the Global Economy, at this year's Management Conference.
