Mark Bloom is a leader in McGladrey & Pullen's Great Lakes region Manufacturing and Wholesale Distribution practice. In his role, Bloom is the practice leader for the Great Lakes practice for services to clients doing business internationally. Bloom oversees the delivery of the company's accounting, tax and consulting services to numerous manufacturing and distribution companies. He has more than 25 years of accounting, tax and auditing experience across a wide range of industries.

In addition to his vast experience in accounting, Bloom has helped clients with numerous business development issues. He also has assisted companies with international expansion, acquisitions and divestitures, the development of product lines, business valuations, contract negotiations, financial statement projections and financing matters. Additionally, he has led acquisition due diligence teams and provided expert witness testimony in acquisition and valuation matters.

Bloom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Illinois CPA Society. He also served as a member of the Illinois Manufacturers Association and American Management Association. Bloom has served as an instructor for the American Management Association's program on mergers and acquisitions, "How Much is a Company Worth," and various other programs on corporate restructuring. His speaking engagements include a seminar on business valuation to the Illinois Manufacturers Association and a seminar on negotiating tactics in buying or selling a closely held business. He also has spoken to several groups on the use of employee stock ownership plans to acquire a company.

Bloom authored the article "To obtain a small biz loan, anticipate banker's needs" for Crain's Chicago Business. He also wrote "Buying a business, selling your business, your options and opportunities," a newsletter aimed at assisting closely held business owners in acquiring or selling a business.

Bloom earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in finance, from the University of Chicago.

Mark Bloom will be a panelist on the Session B panel,Building Cross-Border Businesses, at this year's Management Conference.
